Mari (very sorry to name the guide, but what’s the point in writing a review otherwise?) was exceptionally cold with guests from the outset until the end. She did not seem interested in being there or guiding the tour. She asked her guests a perfunctory ‘icebreaker’ question at the beginning of the tour; other than that she didn’t bother to engage whatsoever for the subsequent 9 hours with the group beyond giving dry, humourless overviews of the various places we stopped at. It felt like we were on a tour with a vampire.…”

“Originally, I was wholly prepared to give this experience a very negative review…the Viator info says „20min flight“ and a „6am departure“…in reality, the pick up was at 3:30am and we were only back in the city by noon. I probably never would have signed up knowing this, as I only got back to my hotel around 11:30pm the night before. I also felt super uncomfortable, taking a cab at 3 in the morning, as a lone female traveler, to the departure site, which looked like just some dark corner of the city, not the head office or anything. “As and introvert I was afraid at first how do I survive a tour with a group of 50, but it was very nicely organized. The group divided into smaller groups by language and on every sight we had some time with the guide and some time to wander around on our own. Our guide Marina communicated very well and gave us clear instructions, in order to have this big group to be on the schedule and getting the best of this trip. The sights were amazing and I got to know Armenia a lot better thanks to our guide.”
